According to the IRS, any automobile donated that has a value of over $5,000.00 must include an appraisal by an accredited appraisal service/person. We are independent, licensed and bonded automobile appraisers.

IMPORTANT TAX CHANGES FOR VEHICLES DONATED IN 2005

The tax laws for donated vehicles have changed in 2005. For a summary of these changes, please CLICK HERE. We will be updating our website soon to provide additional information regarding these changes. In 2005, an appraisal from a recognized appraiser will be required for vehicles that are valued in excess of $5,000.00. 

To view the IRS's donation requirements in detail, please click HERE. Our donation appraisals are formatted based on the IRS guidelines listed in IRS Publication 561.  This does not imply that we are endorsed or sanctioned by the IRS.

Total cost for our donation appraisal service is only $79.00. The charge for the service will be secured when you complete the appraisal form listed in step 1.

Automobile Donation Appraisal Process
Its Easy as 1..2..3

1.) First, complete our Quik Eval Online Appraisal Form. This form will enable us to accurately determine the retail value of the vehicle. It is easy to use with a number of check boxes and takes about five to ten minutes to complete. Make sure you have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) ready as the form requires it. You will also be given the ability to attach or email photographs of the vehicle to be donated. After completion of the appraisal form, you will be directed to an encrypted secure server Secure for credit card processing.

2.) For us to complete IRS Form 8283, we require a copy of the donated vehicle's registration or title. This verifies the existence of the vehicle and lists the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). This step is mandatory for us to complete IRS Form 8283.

Please fax a copy of the registration or title to 845 561 1745. Please be sure to use a cover page listing your full name and contact information. You can also scan the registration/title (in jpeg format ONLY) and email it to us at info@carvaluesplus.com. Please email identifying information with it also.

 

3.) That's all there is to it! Upon completion of the above, we will mail you the following:


A.)  A cover letter summarizing what we are providing.

B.)  A detailed evaluation listing the vehicle's retail value and condition as submitted.

C.)  An appraisal by a licensed appraiser formatted per the guidelines in IRS Publication 561.

D.) The completed and signed IRS Form 8283.
